2 Sense Shortie: How To Make New Friends (Pandemic Edition)
We’ve all been there. Scrolling through our contact list to delete old numbers and maybe a few numbers that we no longer dial due to moving on. It’s one thing to do this during years’ past but let’s be honest, this pandemic has been very rough on all sides.
Amongst all other things that we’ve endured last year going into this year, some relationships may have also been tested. Between quarantine and cautious gatherings it’s been a struggle to constantly see some of the people we care about. It has also been a struggle to go out and connect with new faces.
Even though we’re in a pandemic where social distancing has become the norm, there are plenty of things that still remain the same. Keep reading to see how to make new friends during this pandemic.
Work On Yourself 💼
In order to attract new energy, you have to cleanse yourself of the old. Working on yourself will spark self-healing and allow you to refocus on who you are.
Many times we fall out of sync with old friends due to being at a new place mentally in life. In order to see where you stand, you have to have “me time” to find out what you want, who you are, and where you’re going.
Open Your Heart ❤
Just like with any relationship, you have to open yourself up and put yourself out there. Forgive but don’t forget. Work towards move past old feelings that have you closed off to new possibilities but, not forgetting.
Don’t let any old and unjustified insecurities keep you from letting a good person in. Move slowly and take time building with new people.
Weeding out the Fake 😒
When it comes to making new friends, you have to know what you’re looking for. Are you looking for real meaningful friendships? Or just a group of friends who look good to pose with on the gram? If you’re looking for real meaningful friendships, you need to know that the person values you and is there for you.
You should be able to trust them without there being any secret animosity or competition between you. You should respect each other’s values and also remain down to support each other. That’s my best friend….That’s my best friend!!!
Get Social 📱
Since we’ve been limited on going out in most places, technology has kept many of us going through this pandemic. Don’t get us wrong, we still love sparking up an “old fashion” conversation while picking up groceries or while getting our nails done at the salon.
One thing that we can’t deny is that life in quarantine would have been unbearable for us without the internet. They don’t call it social media for nothing. There are so many platforms nowadays where you can go and meet likeminded individuals.
Whether joining Facebook groups or following pages that interest you on Insta. It is now more easier than ever to put yourself out there.
We're always looking for new besties!!!! 💕
