Holiday Special: Chef's Delight

Jerry Malone was an ambitious 20-year-old who had a love and passion for food. Cooking was a way of escaping reality by sinking deep into his creativity. One morning decided to sign up for a culinary school abroad to help further his skills by exploring different cultures and learning new recipes. So he decided to move away from his small town in Massachusetts to the big city of Paris, France. It was then when he learned a new way of life, tried new recipes and even ran into some of the worlds most beautiful people. Jerry was never a popular guy, but he was able to make a few friends. He met his two roommates, Jessi and Tran, who were also studying abroad.

On the first day of second semester at the Paris Culinary Arts School and Kitchen, he came across the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She had long red hair, big, beautiful green eyes with a hint of brown, and long lean legs. She seemed to be new to the school as well but there were whispers that she was a very experienced chef. To Jerry’s surprise she was his new head professor. “Bonjour class!”, she said the sweetest voice. “My name is Eva François and I am your new head chef and professor for this class.” From that day forward, Jerry was instantly infatuated. So much so, he strived to impress her everyday. He would try new recipes everyday to woo her but she didn't seem to be impressed. He wanted to get to know her outside of class so he would stay late every day just so he can ask questions and work up the courage to ask her. Although it seemed as if he was interested in cooking and gaining more study time, he really wanted to spend more time with Eva. Jerry felt a mysterious draw to her beauty and her talent as a chef. Eva would explain everything in such a way anyone could understand. Her very essence and soft spoken speech would lure anyone in to whatever she was talking about. Jerry would come to his apartment and rave about her to his room mates, Jessi and Tran. “Geez man, it’s like you’re under a spell!” said Jessi. “Well maybe I am, maybe I’m not! But she is the most amazing woman I have ever seen” said Jerry. “Well what’s stopping you from asking her out to dinner?” Jessi said. Jerry thought about what was said and finally decided to work up the nerve to ask Eva out. After class, Jerry walks up to Eva. “Hey, Mrs. Eva?!” he says. “It’s actually Miss, monsieur” says Eva. “What can I do for you mon ami?!” “Weeeellllll…….” hesitated Jerry. “Well get on with it!?” Says Eva. “You want to ask me out, no?!” “How does she know?!”….Jerry thought. “Ummm…..I was just wondering if I can take you to dinner?” “I tell you what. Meet me here at 8 and I will cook for you, ouais?!” Jerry almost in a spell like trance, says yes.

Later that evening, Jerry meets Eva in the culinary building. He can smell something delicious down the hallway. He gets to the door and Eva has on a beautiful red dress showing off her long legs. She walks up to Jerry and gestures for him to sit down. They sit and talk for hours over the large feast Eva prepared for them. After the date, the two became inseparable. You never saw one without the other. They became so inseparable that Eva decided to move in with Jerry and his two roommates. However, shortly after moving in Eva became very demanding and almost unbearable to the two roommates. Eventually, one moved out. Jerry felt so upset. He felt like he had to choose between his friends and his new love. Jerry decided to put his foot down and demanded that Eva find a way to get along with his friends. The idea that he would stick up for his friends rather than her made her furious and she was determined to get Jerry to see things her way.

A few months later after graduating, Jerry started a new job at an evening lounge as the head chef. He spent lots of evenings at the new restaurant, leaving Eva alone most evenings. This would cause a rift between Jerry and Eva. The two would argue all the time. Eva would go into a jealous rage thinking that Jerry was doing more than working. Finally Jerry had had enough. He decided to break things off with Eva. Furious and devastated, Eva looked him dead in the eyes and said "You WILL see me again" and walked away.

After Eva and Jerry broke up. Jerry’s roommate decided to move back in and all was well once again, but Eva could not cope. She would send gifts to try and win Jerry back and would stop by his apartment unannounced. For weeks, she begged Jerry for a second chance. Finally Jerry agreed to a dinner date. Just as their first date, she asked if Jerry could meet her in the culinary building. When he walked in, he could smell the food from down the hallway. As he moved closer, the smell became stronger and stronger. Eva was known for her new and upcoming recipes. Jerry walked into the kitchen and looked around, and Eva was nowhere to be found. Then suddenly he heard a creek in the door and when he turned around, there was Eva with a knife. Things went dark..........

The next morning, Professor François opened the classroom in good spirits. "Bonjour students! I have a new recipe for you. As a matter of fact, I’d like you to give it a try." Eva passed out plates of food to all her students. Each one devouring a new dish that she presented to the class. When class was dismissed, Jessi walked into the room and questioned Eva about Jerry. “I’ve been looking for Jerry. Do you know where he is?!” Jessi said. “Mon Cheri, try my new dish it’s to die for!” said Eva. “Look I could care less about your new dish that’s to die for and you know that!” says Jessi. “Why not, Jerry did” Eva said as she slowly walked away with a smirk. A few weeks went by and there was still no word from Jerry. Suddenly there was a knock on the door of Jerry’s apartment. Tran and Jessi opened the door. “Can I help you?!” asked Tran. “Yes, I’d like to ask you a few questions regarding the murder of your friend Jerry?!”
