2Sense Shortie: Afraid Of Success?!

Everyone wants to succeed. Success is a life goal. However, some people are afraid of success. There are many things you gain from success, be it money, fame, status, etc. But do you know if you are afraid of rejection, you may also have a fear of success ?! In fact, many people fear the attention that notoriety may bring to them. Here are a few ways to tell if you may be afraid that you’re outgrowing your circle and your surroundings.

When good things happen, you almost feel embarrassed to tell your circle. This can be a form of imposter syndrome, or you may feel a sense of judgment coming. The sense of judgment can lead to rejection which no one feels comfortable with. You start to feel guilty for earning the success that you’ve worked for because you don’t want to sound as if you are bragging. You may even feel like you are taking up too much space and that you need to draw the attention back to others for fear of having your success be turned into negative attention. Being an introvert, will cause you to shy away from success because of the attention.

Fear of failure is another reason you may fear success. If you are a private person, failing in front of people can be crippling. This is another way to draw attention back to you causing an u healthy need for perfectionism. This can leave you feeling like you have imposter syndrome.

Growth is important and it is important that you surround yourself with people who support your journey. Otherwise you will be stuck with people who will criticize you and potentially hold you back from achieving your goals. People who will clap during your winning season because they understand the ebbs and flows of success. If you do not have these people in your circle, maybe you have a different shape.
