2Sense Shortie: Skin Care? Lets talk about it
If there is one passion that we all should have, it should be skin care. Your skin is the biggest organ you possess. It should always be given the king or queen treatment especially the older you become. Skin care is more than just your face but your whole body.
So here are a few new things we have added to our repertoire when it comes to caring for our skin.
Baking Soda Masks
This is a regime that should only be used every so often usually during the time when you have breakouts. Baking soda masks are great for cleaning out your pores, exfoliating the skin, is an anti-inflammatory, and it is an antimicrobial. The best part about it is that it only requires 2 ingredients: 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp of water.
(CAUTION: mask is not intended for everyday use. BK can interfere w/ the skins natural PH balance. Use sparingly)
Raw African Black Soap (THE REAL BLACK SOAP)
We know you have seen the marketing for black African soaps. Usually, it looks like a black bar of soap.... WRONG! The REAL African black soap is actually brown in color and gets soft when wet. It helps to even the skin tone and has even been known to slow down the signs of aging.
Exfoliating Towel
Be honest, when was the last time you truly cleaned your back?! Well, an exfoliating towel is just what you need. They work kind of like loofas except they are long and stretch like a towel so you can scrub your back. If this is going to help get rid of some of that back-ne then this is the product for you. On top of that, it evens your skin tone. Who wants a dark back and glowing skin everywhere else? No sir, no ma'am.
Foot Masks/Peels
You are on your feet more than anything so surely you are taking care of your feet. A good foot mask can actually relax the whole body all the while leaving your feet feeling silky and smooth. They have peels, masks, and other moisturizing products that are available over the counter. Some peels you can use on your hands as well. Besides who wants calluses and dry skin?!
Dry Brushing
We have mentioned this on a couple of our posts and quite frankly cannot be expressed enough. There are so many benefits to dry brushing which would include lymphatic drain/flow, exfoliation, increased circulation, and more. It sounds weird to just brush your skin prior to your shower but you will definitely notice smoother skin and even tighter skin in as little as two days.
BONUS: MINDING YOUR BUSINESS AND DRINKING WATER
I mean......drinking water already has LOTS of benefits. You can hydrate the skin just by drinking the recommended amount of water for your height and weight. However, as funny as it sounds, minding your business has proven to clear the skin and also slow down the process of aging! It's true, internal peace can give your skin the glow you've always dreamed of.
