2Sense Shortie: Stress-free Living
It seems like everyday there is some thing new happening in the world and/or in your personal life and honey............its been so stressful. Specifically the past two years to be exact have been the MOST stressful for everyone. These days we have been trying to be a stress free as possible. I have had a few tips that help me decompress and live a less stressful life.
TIP #1: Un-wind and you'll be fine
I think we can all agree that unplugging and logging off from social media helps to lead a very stress-less life. I like to take social media breaks. This includes logging off all of my social media platforms and just living in the moment. I have learned to become very selective in what I share with the world these days. I have taken a few vacations and took some pictures for my personal collection for memories but I would rather keep them to myself. This is a tip that needs that requires self discipline. You'll be surprised at how much social media can be stressful to the mind, body, and spirit.
TIP #2: Exercise and free your mind.
Exercise is beneficial for so many reasons. Exercise helps to destress the body but also the mind. The circulation your body receives after a good workout, which helps to release endorphins that help you to just feel amazing. Any form of movement helps you to feel more relaxed and ready to face your challenged head-on or ready to wind down.
TIP #3: Sunshine to unwind
Sometimes when I am having a stressful day, I like to step outside and get some vitamin d. Stepping into the grass and getting grounded with the sunlight hitting your face, helps you to fight depression. Plus it connects you with earth's natural healing energy. Sunlight helps to lower your blood pressure and is good for your mental health. Next time you are eating your lunch, or reading a good book, step outside in the sun. You can even sit, close your eyes, and just meditate.
TIP #4: Disappear
It is necessary for me to disappear and recharge myself. By disappear, I mean take a few days (if you can) to just be alone. Alone time is very important to your relationship with yourself. Honestly, when is the last time you spent time with yourself? You deserve your attention just as much if not more than anyone else. Take yourself on a date, take a solo vacation, or give yourself a stay-cation.
TIP #5: Silence your surroundings.
Like any good person, we want to help our friends and family work through their problems. It's ok to be a listening ear, but sometimes it can consume you as if you are in the center of their drama. Let your loved ones know, you are unavailable to sit and take in all of the energy they are exuding at the moment.
TIP #6: Let Go
Anything that reminds you of any trauma you may have experienced or anyone who may be the cause of a lot of drama, let it (them) go. Sometimes you have to purge your circle and anything in your life that could be a trigger. Learning when something or someone has expired in your life, will help you to gain the ability to let it go.
