No More: 5 Things I will No Longer Tolerate
I don't know about you all but although the pandemic has been hard, it was a blessing in disguise. Hear me out, the pandemic allowed me to slow down and appreciate the small blessings in my life. The shut down was the start of discovering who I really am and what I really want without distraction. Over the past few years, I realized I never truly established boundaries for myself and others around me. So here are a few things I refuse to tolerate any longer.
Putting Others First
As a mom and/or wife, this is a HUGE one. You MUST make yourself a priority before any and everyone else, and I do mean in a healthy way of course. Once I realized, that no one would be good if I wasn't, that turned my way of thinking around. It is very easy to put everything and everyone else first. It is almost second nature to think of what the family or anyone else needs before your own. You cannot pour from an empty cup. So it is very important to make sure that you have time to call your own on a daily basis. To unwind and to decompress. Whether it is a long soak in the tub, a good book, a television series, or a glass of wine. Me time, should be on the list every single day. Indulge yourself in self care.
Becoming a Hoarder
I know we love to keep everything that we've bought and everything that was gifted to us. However, it is ok to part ways with the items and keep the memories. I had a dining room table that was gifted to me by our mother. My mother passed away in 2019. I desperately needed a new table but the old table held so many memories of family dinners. It had a lot of sentimental value. It was very hard to part ways with the table, but I just because I no longer have it doesn't mean I will forget all of the good times.
Clothes is another item that can become easily hoarded. Instead of giving myself empty promises that I will one day fit back into these clothes or that they will eventually come back in style, I decided to donate them to families in need. Think of it this way, if you have not thought about wearing a certain item in year, it may be time to let it go.
Debt
This can be a tough one because so many people struggle with debt of some kind. Years ago, I decided I wanted to improve my credit score. I also had the goal of becoming a homeowner one day. I did not want my debt to income ratio to interrupt my dream for my family. I decided to work on my debt and began making better decisions. I looked at my debt, my finances, and my goals and educated myself on finances. Like many, financial literacy was never taught to me so I had to do my own research. Relieving yourself from debt, can also help you to live stress free. You do not have to be the wealthiest person to start working on taking control of your finances.
Disrespect, Dishonesty, and Manipulative people
This is a huge one. I have decided I no longer will accept disrespect of any kind. I will longer accept anyone being dishonest, manipulation tactics, and gaslighting from ANYONE. Whether it is family, friends, managers, and/or co-workers, you are worth so much more and you do not need to be used in order to be liked/loved. Be around people who understand and respect your boundaries. Surround yourself with people who just as excited to see you as you are them.
A Job......Periodt!
If your job is making you unhappy, leave. It really can be as simple as that. Usually when you remove the bad, there is space for the good. If you feel your entire spirit drop, your stomach turns in knots, and unfavorable feelings come over you every time you pull into the parking lot, it's time to let it go. Queen Mother.....(BEYONCE) recently told us to quit our jobs anyway! All jokes aside, you can't be uncomfortable forever before you snap. So for your mental health as well as your physical health, find another job and leave the last one.

Being Wasteful
In 2022 and beyond, we are no longer wasting. We are no longer wasting our time, our energy, our money, our food, etc. I don't know about you but I want to make the most of all of the above. Especially, my time. I can no longer afford to waste my time and energy on anything that no longer serves me and my life.
If you need a sign that some things in your life need to change, sis this is your sign. Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change. Mental and emotional health play a huge part in our physical health. So whatever, we need to change or completely remove in order to be healthy, it must be done. I love the transparency of your blog. I can definitely relate with removing toxic people from your life and putting yourself first especially during this neverending pandemic. Life is a journey that requires constant growth.

Yes, I agree with all the above. You can not pour from an empty cup.
